As we round up the end of our adventures, we finished our trip in the Outback! From Sydney we made a quick flight to Alice Springs, followed by a drive into the Outback. We started our Outback adventure with a lovely hike through the Alice Springs Desert Park. We viewed a bird show filled with many native birds, such as a personal favorite of ours, the emu. Later we went back to the campsite and had an amazing night under the stars. Over the next four days we hiked native and indigenous grounds, we took a dip in a gorge, learned about the aboriginal culture, ate new foods such as camel and kangaroo, learned to paint from an aboriginal woman, and last, but most important, we learned what it means to be one with nature. As our trip comes to an end we are sad to part from our new lifelong friends that we have made, but we are very appreciative of the memories we have made and the splish-splash giggle-giggles that we have shared. We would like to take a moment to thank the parental figures who have encouraged us to attend this trip. We also would like to thank our leaders Janie and Chris for making our time in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji an exceptional experience. To end our final blog entry, Putney people laser beams!
