A Beautiful Goodbye to New Zealand

This post features student writing.

Bitter cold winds and snow during summer break? It might seem like the worst. But to our group, it was paradise. This winter wonderland in July took place at Treble Cone Mountain in Wanaka, New Zealand. Treble Cone offered fun for everyone. While I loved every moment of snowboarding, my favorite part of being on the mountain was the breathtaking view. As I hiked to the summit, the expanse of snow-capped mountains blew my mind. As I reached the top, I thought, “this looks fake.” To my left, a sparkling, blue lake met the foot of Treble Cone Mountain. To my right , white peaks continued on for miles. I have truly never been to a prettier place, and as I write this on the bus to the airport I’m quite sad to be leaving Wanaka, and the beautiful country that is New Zealand. But adventure awaits us in Australia!
